Tom discovers a mysterious hole in his school's sandpit and jumps into it, finding himself in a world with completely opposite colors. There he meets Ben, and they share the differences and similarities between their worlds. They become pen pals, exchanging stories and toys. When the hole begins to close and eventually disappears, their friendship remains, teaching Tom that even when worlds are different, true connections can last forever.
